미사 강론 중에 신부님께서 말씀하셨다. 우리들은 과연 예수님께서 주시는 평화를 '선택'하고 있는지 자문해 보아야 할 것이라고...
지금까지 예수님께 평화를 청하는 기도를 수없이 드렸었다. 그런데 강론말씀을 들으면서 '선택'이라는 말이 그토록 낯설면서도 그토록 내게 깊은 울림을 지니고 다가올 수가 없었다.
그렇다, 평화를 달라고 청하는 것이 아니라, 나 스스로가 그 평화를 살겠다고 선택하고 있는지가 관건이라는 것을...
During the homily today, the father asked us whether we 'CHOOSE' the peace that Jesus is willing to give us...
So far, I've asked for that peace hundreds and thousands of times in my prayers, the peace that only God can grant me. But today, the word 'CHOOSE', ever unfamiliar, came to me with deep resonant sounding.
Yes, it is not that we demand the peace but that we 'CHOOSE' to live that peace.
