호들갑스레 무덥던 여름의 끝자락이
성큼 다가서는 가을의 발걸음에 부대끼는 날들이다...
The remaining heat of the last summer is lingering
at the footsteps of the upcoming autumn.
원래 선풍기도 잘 틀지 않는 성격인데
올 여름은 선풍기를 참 요긴하게 썼다.
녀석은 간신히 팬이 돌기는 하지만 오래 되어 놔서 많이 헐었다.
그래도 아직은 제 구실을 톡톡히 한다.
I do not turn on electric fans usually,
but this summer, I used my fan many times.
Such a hot summer it was.
The fan is working but quite old and even a bit broken.
Still, it is okay.
선풍기를 켤까 말까 버튼을 누르다가...
문득 여름 한 철을 함께 한 선풍기를 물끄러미 바라보았다.
이제 더 서늘해지면 이 녀석도 창고에 들어가고 말겠지...
사람의 인연처럼 사물들과도 인연이 끝나면 헤어지는 법인가.
나도 내 할 일을 다하면 미련없이 돌아갈 수 있을까...
Today, while I was putting my hand on the fan's button
undecided whether to turn it on or not,
I stared at the fan with fixed eyes.
When the weather gets more chilly, it will go back to the store room.
Like with human beings, there is a time to depart with an inanimate object?
Can I also leave without any regret after I finish my job on earth
as if I have to say good-bye to my fan soon?
