주님께서 마련하신다. - God provides

아브라함은 그곳의 이름을 '야훼 이레'라 하였다. 그래서 오늘도 사람들은 '주님의 산에서 마련된다.'고들 한다. - 창세기 22,14

So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided. - Gen 22,14

아침 일찍부터 서둘러 먼길을 나서야 했다. 일주일 가량 출타다. 필요한 서류며 세면도구며 두번 세번 확인하면서 많지 않은 짐을 꾸렸더랬다. 그런데 목적지에 도착해서 보니 가지고 온 여비가 터무니 없이 작지 않은가. 이웃 나라 돈으로 액수를 환산해야 하다 보니 그만 잘못 계산하고 만 것이다.
Early in the morning, I left for a journey - one week of absense away from my workplace. I packed and checked my travel documents, toiletries, and other personal things carefully already. But only after I arrived at the destination, I realised I did not bring enough amount of money. Since I had to think in terms of foreign currency, I made a mistake in calculation.

그런데 식당에서 우연히 한 신부님을 만났는데, 이분은 곧 출국하셔야 해서 이제 남은 돈이 별로 필요가 없으시단다. 그래서 여비에 보태 쓰라고 내게 기부(?)를 해 주셨다. 염치는 없지만 감사히 받았다. 그런데 문득 아브라함의 이야기가 떠오르는 것이었다...

Then I met a priest in the dining room by chance. He said he did not need much money anymore since he would depart from the country tonight. And he kindly donated(?) some money to me so that I could add it to my travel expenses. Bearing a bit of shame but quite gladly and gratefully, I thanked him and received the money. And the story of Abraham came across my mind...
